How to obtain an Apostille for a document 

Since October 14th, 2012, the Hague Convention of October 5th, 1961, or the Apostille Convention went into effect for Uruguay. From that date, all documents issued by the U.S. authorities should be accompanied of an Apostille to be valid in Uruguay. Legalizing documents at this consular office is no longer necessary. Apostilles should be obtained in the state where the document is issued at the offices of the following organisms:
